Associate Professor Alexandre Chan

Alexandre Chan, Pharm.D., MPH, FCCP, BCPS, BCOP is a Deputy Head and a tenured Associate Professor at the Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Science at National University of Singa­pore (NUS). He is also co-appointed as a Specialist Pharmacist at National Cancer Centre Singapore. He is also the pro­gram director for the National Oncol­ogy Pharmacy Residency Program in Singapore. Currently, he is dually board certified in Pharma­cotherapy and Oncology Pharmacy.

As a clinician scientist, Prof. Chan has published over 130 full-length peer-re­viewed manuscripts in a wide array of cancer supportive care and survivorship topics, including chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting, myelosuppression, cognitive impair­ment, dermatological toxicities and cancer-related fatigue. He provides research supervision to PhD students and fellows, and his research program has attracted over US $1.8 million of funding support from numerous agencies and pharmaceutical companies.

Prof. Chan has received numerous awards; he was the recipient of the Young Scientist Award from National University of Singapore in 2013, and he was elected as a Fellow under  American College of Clinical Pharmacy in 2014. He was also the recipient of the Steven M. Grunberg Memorial Award from Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer in 2015. Currently, Prof. Chan is the President-Elect for the International Society of Oncology Pharmacy Practitioners.
